Welcome to the official website of the World Forum on Energy Regulation IV that took place in Athens 18-21 October 2009.

WFER IV was hosted by the Regulatory Authority for Energy of Greece (RAE) and organised by RAE in coordination with the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) under the guidance of the WFER IV Steering Committee formed by chairpersons of the world’s major regional regulators’ associations, AFUR, ARIAE, CAMPUT, CEER, EAPIRF, ERRA, MEDREG, NARUC, OOCUR, SAFIR.

WFER IV attracted over 1000 participants from over 80 countries. The 3 day programme featured a wide variety of topics that concern today’s energy industry.

As seen at the Outcomes section, the Closing Statement of the fourth World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER IV) in Athens focuses on two major outcomes. First, energy regulators worldwide created the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER). Second, ICER issued the World Energy Regulators’ Statement on Climate agreed by 11 regional associations of regulators.

The next World Forum will take place in 2012 at Quebec City, Canada. See you all there!
